Burma Army torches over 300 houses in Shan State
Accusing villagers of supporting ethnic Shan rebels, the Shan State Army (South), the Burmese Army on July 29 torched 154 houses in Hokhe village, Mai Kai Township leaving over 600 people homeless. Photo – Mizzima. In a bid to eliminate ethnic armed rebels, fighting for self-determination, the Burmese Army uses the four-cuts policy. But the junta’s policy is a nightmare for local villagers forcing them to be displaced or to flee to neighbouring countries.
